Artemis International Executive search was proud to be a sponsor of the Excellence in Mining & Exploration conference, held at the Hilton Hotel, Sydney on the 9th to the11th September 2007.

This premier industry event  is now in its fifth year and profiles the exploration and mining industry in an investment context. The event also provided presentations for the mining community in the area of capital raisings, listing issues, infrastructure and on and offshore opportunities

The three day conference also included an industry exhibition, the Legends in Mining Awards breakfast and the National Mining Awards ceremony and gala dinner.

More than 40 companies in the resources industry presented over 3 days.  Artemis sponsored the Gold session on Day 2, which was chaired by Genevieve Riviere. Interesting and informative presentations were made by Ted Tyne, Director of the Minerals Resources Group for the Department of Primary Industries & Resources, South Australia; Andrew King, MD of Goldstar Resources; Darren Klink, VP Corporate Affairs for Oceana Gold; Ian Chalmers, MD of Alkane Resources and Ian Finch, MD of Trafford Resources.

The Legends in Mining Awards were presented at a breakfast to celebrate the successes of Mining in Australia. The awards recognise individuals who have made contributions to the Australian Mining Industry both locally and internationally as voted by their peers. The winners this year were Professor Geoffrey Blainey, AC and Dr Roy Woodall, AO.

The National Mining Awards were held on the final night of the conference and Artemis Executive Search was proud to sponsor the ‘Growth Story of the Year’ award for a selection of organisations who demonstrated strong growth throughout the year. The winner of this award for 2007 was Kagara Zinc Ltd.
